Sarah Hall – Creative Writing Workshop

Day June 20, 2026
Time 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Location The Makers Tent

A creative writing workshop with Sarah Hall, the celebrated author of Helm and The Wolf Border.

In this workshop Sarah will look at the power of nature writing; how to use language, images, political and historical context, senses and symbols to vivify and make meaningful all aspects of our natural world for readers. From the smallest creature or seed, to huge mountain ranges and oceans, the trick for any writer is depiction, evocation and human connection, presenting each part of nature in a way that helps us truly experience it, meditate on it, and through it understand better our relationship with the environment. Using promps and interactive exercises, the workshop is intended for writers (and environmentalists!) of all abilities. Alongside guidance on writing techniques the session will offer playful, celebratory ways of bringing nature and literature together.

Ticket not included with general access. Please book separately. £24.
